BARK! The Herald Angels Sing!

You’ll hear them, too, when you walk into our new food room!

The new food room has the same square footage as our entire store used to have—it’s that awesome. We’ve converted the old dog food area into the new treat room; we hear angels sing there too, and so do the dogs! We’d like to thank everyone for their kind words and enthusiasm during our expansion and for your unending support and patronage. If you haven’t stopped in lately be sure to visit and see our new digs!

We’ll love helping you shop local this howl-iday season—we have great gifts for humans, canines and felines alike. T-shirts, purses, mittens, candles, greeting cards, cookie cutters, books, jewelry, essential oils, ornaments, calendars and much more for the 2 leggeds in your life. Packer bowls, collars, unique toys, treats, jackets, sweaters, beds and tons more goodies for the canines. And for the felines we’ve got fountains, unique toys, things to scratch, collars, beds, catnip and much more.

As always, we only carry all natural, holistic, treats and food made in the USA or Canada—items you can always feel good about giving to your animal companions that are safe and healthy. We do all the homework for you so you don’t have to!

From the SPA

In addition to all the exciting changes in our store, the SPA Department is also going through a transformation.   Be sure to inquire about this at your next grooming or nail trimming appointment!

This Friday is the Dog Wash by the Inch and Saturday is the ever popular Nail Clinic.

Shake your BOOT-tay

Not just for sled dogs anymore!  Boots used to be thought of as an accessory for any pooch other than a sled dog—which these days couldn’t be further from the truth. We’ve been selling boots like crazy the last couple weeks because people realize the importance of protecting their dogs’ paws from the elements as well as salt and chemicals. When the temperatures drop, your dog’s paws are susceptible to frost bite just like our fingers and toes are. Feel good about taking your dog outside in safety.

Kondos  Ultra Paws

Our two most popular sellers are the Kondos Outdoors boots which are handmade in Ely, Minnesota and the new Ultra Paws which are guaranteed not to fall off. Measure your dog’s paw or bring him in for a fitting today!

Addiction Can be a Good Thing

Want your cat to enjoy the Goodness of Raw food, but find it too much of a hassle? Now you can with Addiction’s Raw Dehydrated Food! Simply mix it with your cat’s current canned food for a balanced meal that’s tasty and nutritious!

Addiction was founded by a leading Holistic Veterinarian and Clinical Nutritionist who saw thousands of disease-stricken cats and dogs plagued with skin and gastrointestinal conditions caused by allergies to beef, chicken, lamb and artificial additives. Frustrated by the lack of healthy food options, he set out with a mission to develop a range of ultra-premium dog and cat foods that contain no by-products, fillers or preservatives. He also utilized an innovative range of hypoallergenic protein sources to prevent allergies and promote wellness and vitality in pets. The Addiction range of products is the result of over 20 years of research and experience and revolutionizes the way in which pets’ nutritional needs are addressed.

Save the Environment, Feed Addiction.  (Excerpted from Addiction’s website.)

Addiction believes in creating responsible foods that are both great for your pets as well as the environment and is the only pet food company to participate actively in the eco-sustainability movement. Our pet food sources are only from New Zealand and Australia and are carefully chosen to ensure that our products adhere to our eco-friendly philosophy. The New Zealand Brushtail and Australian Kangaroo have long since been considered pests. There are approximately 70 million Brushtails and 3.6 million Kangaroos destroying extensive areas of New Zealand and Australian forest and endangering wildlife. These animals are being strictly controlled in the hope that their numbers can be greatly reduced and the damage caused put to a stop.

However, instead of being destroyed, these pests make good novel protein sources of pet food. The Brushtail contains higher levels of Omega 3 & 6 Fatty Acids than other red meats and fish and we have partnered with the New Zealand government to harvest the animal for our food. The Australian government has licensed the harvesting of free-range kangaroos for commercial pet food as it is a low-fat meat with high levels of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), shown to contribute to overall health and fitness.

Addiction also utilizes other environment-friendly novel protein sources such as venison and eel. New Zealand is a major world supplier of venison, a naturally healthy red meat rich in Protein and Iron. Its deer live in a free-range environment, and are free of artificial hormones and chemicals. We only use New Zealand freshwater eel which do not contain many of the pollutants found in marine fish.

Dogs with meat allergies will be able to choose a meat exclusion diet with Zen Vegetarian. Eating plant food rather than animals leads to better use of resources and better protection of the environment. Our signature foods are our top-selling NZ Brushtail & Vegetables, NZ Venison & Apples, Unagi & Seaweed, King Salmon & Potatoes, Perfect Summer Brushtail, New Zealand Forest Delicacies, Wild Kangaroo & Apples and Zen Vegetarian. Whole meat is used with no additives, preservatives and fillers, giving your pet a meal as close to nature as possible.

By feeding your pets Addiction, you play a part in saving the environment as well.
