Learn More About Back to Basics Pet Food
A Back to Basics representative will be in our Mukwonago store this Saturday, August 25th from noon-4pm. Stop in during those hours to learn more about this great line of food! Here’s an excerpt from their website to get you started:
When we set out to make Back to Basics, we wanted to create a food that truly mimics what a dog would eat in the wild. The result? A food that is as close to what nature would offer in meeting the instinctive needs of your dog.
Remaining true to our instinctive philosophy, Back to Basics starts with real organ meat as the number one ingredient. In the wild, dogs naturally go for organ meats because they’re nutrient-dense and they taste great. We then round out our high-protein diet with green carbohydrates, like field peas. This allows us to keep our formulas free from grain, gluten and potatoes, providing a food that more closely mirrors a diet that your dog would naturally eat in the wild.
At Back to Basics, we extend our focus on quality to everything we do. That’s why every bag is carefully crafted in small batches in our very own small town of Meadville, Pennsylvania by a family that has been solely focused on making the best food and treats for over five generations.
We believe instincts are important. And by following ours, we’ve been able to create a food that’s simply better than any other dog food.
This Week’s Adoptable Pet

Kinzie from HAWS is featured here today:Hello! I am Kinzie, a 1.5 yr old Lab, Shepherd, Rottweiler mix (at least that’s what I look like!). I am a happy, sweet, and friendly girl who is quite smart and eager to please. I love to hang out with people, chase balls, and receive lots of attention.
I haven’t had much stability in my life, and therefore am looking for a family to hang out with every day. I get really nervous when I am left by myself, so I will need a family with patience and time to allow me to acclimate to my new home. Because of my special needs, I will need someone home all the time or to visit a daycare so I don’t worry so much. I will also need medication, continued behavior consultations with a behaviorist and a family committed to managing all of my behaviors. My Foster-Mom is working with me daily and I am learning a lot, but progress is slow and I will need someone committed to training with me for at least the next few years.
I am well-mannered, don’t jump on people, I will sit and stay on command, and I am learning some tricks. I have a tendency to be reactive in certain situations, but generally I am appropriate with dogs, cats, and children! I can’t wait for my new life to begin in a forever home. Please call the office ladies at HAWS to learn more about my special needs, and to see if I would be a good fit for your family!
Fromm Feeding Friends Campaign
