Thanks to all our Pewaukee friends who stopped by with their fur-kids on Saturday. It was a pleasure seeing all of you!
Mukwonago friends--no tricks necessary--stop by for your treat bag (one per customer, please) this Thursday, October 31st!
The Dogington Post has a great article on the benefits of coconut oil for your pets. From the article: "Many diseases and ailments, like yeast infections, smelly coats, hot spots, cuts that have been infected, and even cracked paws, can all be cured with just a jar of virgin coconut oil.”
FOR HUMANS ONLY:
Coconut Oil Chocolate Treats
- 1/2 cup virgin, cold pressed coconut oil-melted
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
Mix all ingredients together until well blended and smooth. Pour into a small pan lined with parchment paper or spoon into muffin or mini-muffin papers. Refrigerate or freeze until firm.
Since coconut oil has a very low melting point, this fudge must be stored in the fridge or freezer--and eat it quickly or it will melt in your hand! You'll find that's not a problem ;)
