Volunteer Help Needed

A message from Lakeland Animal Shelter:

As we get further into the summer months our animal population is at its heightThis means we find ourselves in desperate need for volunteer help with cleaning cages, dishes, litter pans etc...  We have a handful of hard working and dedicated animal care volunteers that we are very very grateful for (shout out to Kelly, Anna, Cheryl, Hailey, Suzanne and Teresa!!!!), but WE STILL NEED MORE HELP.

It is hard work, but we hope you might also enjoy the company!  We are sure you won't find a more grateful group of kitties to care for!

Would you please consider a day, week, every other week or even once a month to come down and help the animals out in this way?  We do most of our cleaning and such in the morning so we could promise to have you out and on to other things by 1:00 pm.  We are most in need of weekday (morning) help ASAP.

THIS MONDAY we are particularly in need.  Could you help?  Do you know someone who could?  Please share!  Thank you!!!  Please contact us at kperry@lakelandanimalshelter.org for more questions or to join our volunteer team.

Phoenix from HAWS is featured here this week.

Phoenix has been in foster care with a staff member for about a month. During that time she has gotten to know a lot about Phoenix.  We believe she is about 10-12 years old.  She loves to be outside with her humans and really enjoys long hikes.  She even likes to go wading in the water on her hikes.  She currently lives with cats and dogs but they would have to let her be boss.  She seems to do just fine with appropriate children and is housebroken.

For more information or to make an appointment to meet Phoenix, please email her foster mom at jessica@hawspets.org and leave a phone number where she can call you.  She will try to check her messages daily even while on vacation.

Train your Best Friend @ HAWS who offers classes for puppies through adults. HAWS dogs get a special discount but all dogs are welcome.  Call 262-542-8851 ex 114 or email training@hawspets.org.
