How to Pill Your Kitty

If you’re like the majority of people owned by a cat, pilling little Fluffy – otherwise known as trying to place a tiny, hard object into the mouth of an unwilling creature with sharp claws and teeth – is not something you look forward to.

If you’ve never had to do it, you’re probably thinking it’s not a big deal. In fact, it’s the people who’ve attempted this feat in the past that recoil in fear when their kitty’s veterinarian hands them a bottle of pills or a dietary supplement in pill form.

Fortunately, there are a few different techniques for pilling a cat, because every cat is a little different, and what works for one may not work for another.

Winnie is a 2-year-old female Black and Tan Coonhound. She is a bundle of energy--if you are looking for a running partner, she is your girl! She would benefit greatly from a training class as well as continued daily exercise. She seems to get along well with other dogs but she can be forward which may scare some other dogs. Winnie is a sweet, goofy, fun-loving girl looking for her forever home.

Lulu is a 1.5-year-old Domestic Shorthair. She is a lovely little girl. At first she can be a little shy and take a while for her to warm up to you. After she is comfortable she is very sweet and affectionate.

Holiday Weekend Hours

Both our Pewaukee and Mukwonago stores are open regular hours Saturday and Sunday, September 5th and 6th.  We will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 7th and will reopen at our normal 9am on Tuesday the 8th.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend!
