Dog Anxiety and Omega-3 Fats
Now that the noisiest part of the 4th of July holiday weekend is over, if your dog is still exhibiting signs of anxiety there are some dietary factors you can consider that may contribute to his relief. Remember that anxiety can manifest in many ways outside of hiding, panting or shaking--it could be excess barking, aggressiveness, trying to escape or even destructive behavior.
In her article, "Nearly 1 in 3 Dogs Suffer From This Often Easily Fixed Issue", Dr. Becker discusses how Omega-3 fats nourish the oh-so-important neurotransmitters which provide feelings of calm and happiness. She gives details on supplementing doses as well as a few other dietary pointers for a happy, well-balanced and relaxed pup!
