Dog Anxiety and Omega-3 Fats

Now that the noisiest part of the 4th of July holiday weekend is over, if your dog is still exhibiting signs of anxiety there are some dietary factors you can consider that may contribute to his relief. Remember that anxiety can manifest in many ways outside of hiding, panting or shaking--it could be excess barking, aggressiveness, trying to escape or even destructive behavior.

In her article, "Nearly 1 in 3 Dogs Suffer From This Often Easily Fixed Issue", Dr. Becker discusses how Omega-3 fats nourish the oh-so-important neurotransmitters which provide feelings of calm and happiness.  She gives details on supplementing doses as well as a few other dietary pointers for a happy, well-balanced and relaxed pup!

Meet Squirtle the turtle. She is a big girl--about 6 inches side to sid--and is 15 years old. She is a very gentle creature and very quiet to have around. She spends a lot of time swimming and enjoy doing some yoga stretches while out basking. She will make you smile and she is very calming to watch after a hectic day.
