Paw-fuls of THANKS!

Thank you everyone who braved the heat to join us at our 5th Annual Summer Fun Event & Customer Appreciation Day! While we had to close up an hour early because of wind and rain, tons of fun was had by all and we are grateful for a fabulous day. Here are some shots of the day’s happenings!

Training your dog to greet others

We’ve had lots of puppies coming to visit in the store lately—congrats to all you new Fur-Moms and Dads!

We found these great tips from the Whole Dog Journal on training your dog (puppies or adults!) to greet; the article includes greeting people, other dogs, and also lots of other info on safety and basic manners.

Thinking of adding a new dog to your pack?

Here are some do's and don'ts for the process by our good friend, Dr. Karen Becker! In her article, How to Introduce Your New Dog to Your Old Dog: Dos and don’ts for introducing a new housemate, she discusses the process of choosing the right dog for your family (humans AND other pets!), plus step-by-step how to introduce everyone safely and successfully.

In addition, any good shelter or rescue will help you find the right personality and guide you through the process of introduction, so be sure to take advantage of their helpful advice.

Dooley is a darling six year old American Bulldog mix who thoroughly enjoys toys. He is a playful boy who loves life; but would be living his best life if he had a family to call his own. This fellow would prefer a home with children 10 and older and without cats. He gets along with calm dogs his own size. Do you have room in your heart and a toy budget for Delightful Dooley? Visit him and HAWS to see if you connect!

Have a PAWsome day!
