Theodore is a 1 year old Red Eared Slide. He needs a family that will provide interaction slowly so he can get used to handling again. Other than that, he is quite active and quick on his feet.

Guapo is an 8 year old Chihuahua. His name fits him well as it means "handsome" in Spanish. His good looks are accompanied with character and personality. He does have to go to a home with teens and older because he enjoys petting on his terms.

Klips by Kate will be at our Pewaukee store from 10am-2pm, and Nails by Jamie will be in Mukwonago from 9am-2pm.

No appointments necessary for either clinic, and they are both first-come, first serve!

And while you're at the Mukwonago store, chat with a representative from Born Free pet foods--all free of grains, gluten, and fillers.  The rep will be there from 10am-2pm.

Sparky, Scooter, and Skipper must be adopted as a trio. They enjoy hanging out and chatting with each other. Valentines Day is around the corner and you are sure to fall in love!

Troy is a 2-year-old Labrador mix. His play style is rambunctious because he LOVES toys! He would do best in a house without cats. If you're looking for a walking or running companion, he may be the one. (Side note--look at those ears!!)

Looking for that one true love! Meet Buddy the 4-year-old American Bulldog. He will need to be the only pet in the house. He's a big boy and once he becomes familiar with you, he will make a great best friend.

Albert Einstein is a 2-year-old Lionhead. He is not a huge fan about being lifted, but will cuddle if you sit on the floor. His wild hair will need brushing. Come meet this bunny "relativity" soon!

Sarge is a very handsome 1.5 year old Mastiff mix. He would do best in a home with older teens to adults because he is slow to warm up to new people. He does become loose and wiggly with time. If you are looking for a big boy to steal your spot on the couch, he's the one!

McCurdy is an almost 11 year old Lhasa Apso. He would do well with children of any age and other pets. McCurdy does like labeling things belonging to him. HAWS's trainers will work with the adoptive family to manage this in the new house.

Bluey is a 30-35-year-old Conure. He came in because his previous family no longer had the time to care for him. He has done well with cats and dogs.

Prince is a 3-year-old Chihuahua. He is restricted to houses with children 12 and older because he can be very timid. He did well with a cat and a small dog. Once he warms up to new people he is very personable!

Ned is a young 4-year-old Plotthound and Pitbull Mix. He needs a home with older teens because he is unsure of small children. A home that would have the time and energy to play with him would be ideal. He loves to be out wandering the town, or staying in while playing with toys.

Santa is a 10-year-old Poodle Mix. He is looking for a calm home where he can sleep and cuddle. He becomes comfortable around new people and places initially--he is also very calm and easy going.

Holly is a 6 year old miniature poodle. She will flourish in a calm house that will take the time to house train and expose her to new things slowly. Once she trusts you she does like attention and cuddling.

Frosty is a 5 year old Pekingese. He can be slow to warm up to new people and does need help with house training. He is a cuddler when he starts to trust new people.

Daisy, Rosalina, & Peach are a trio of Degus. They are only about ten weeks old. Degus are very social and can be very vocal. Any house that adopts them will have a great time looking at them interact with one another and their environment.

Tiffani is an adult Harlequin rabbit. She came in as a stray so HAWS does not know much of her history. Here she has been very social and loves to hop around in her pen. She enjoys to explore new spaces and objects.

Dracula is a 2 year old terrier mix. He would do best with adults as he needs a calm and quiet home. He did fine with dogs and avoided the cat. He has been spending time with several calm, small sized dogs which has been helping his confidence. Dracula will shine best in a patient home that will give him a lot of time to build trust with the new family and surroundings.

Riley is an 11 month old American Pitbull Terrier. HAWS is recommending children 10 and older due to her strength. She would do best being the only pet in the house. Riley is very sweet and likes to think she is a lap dog. When she settled down she was a heavy leaner for petting.

Henrietta and John Michaels are a bonded pair of ferrets looking for a home to delight. They love to play and cuddle with one another. If you are looking to smile more these two may be for you!

Peaches is a 6 year old cat looking for a her fur-ever home. She was found as a stray and made her way to HAWS. An owner never came looking for her so now this sweet girl is available for adoption!

Suki is a 2 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. She would do best in a home with children that are 16 and older due to her being uncomfortable with handling initially. Suki would do best being the only pet. She loves to play with squeaky toys!

Ginger and Chief are a young bonded pair of Australian Cattle Dogs. They can be shy at first, but once they trust you they are love bugs! They would do best in a house without cats.

Rosie is a 2 year old Lab and Coonhound mix. She is restricted to houses with children 16 and older due to her high energy level which causes her to jump in excitement. As she gets more excited she can become mouthy. She is not good with cats, but may do okay with another dog. Rosie loves food and toys. If you want to meet her, please call in as she is in a foster home and can be viewed by appointment.

Monty is a 14 year old Labrador and Boxer mix from Puerto Rico. He would do best with a quieter home. He does well with other calm dogs. He did avoid a caged cat. He is quiet, sweet natured, and slow moving. Monty enjoys being around people, but has not been overly affectionate.

LuLaRoe Fundraiser for Lakeland

Join us for a fundraiser for Lakeland Animal Shelter. LuLaRoe will be selling a variety of styles of clothing, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Lakeland.

There will also be raffle prizes from various local businesses including Mukwonago Woodhouse Day Spa, Perfectlyfrankoils,  David Alan Alan’s Smokehouse & Saloon, and Mario’s Natural Roman Pizza!

More details: There are 4 LuLaRoe businesses participating in this event. LuLaRoe is a clothing company that makes comfortable and stylish clothing for all shapes and sizes, XXS-3XL. The prints are used to make only about 5,000 items nationwide. This means you may never see some of the prints again, allowing you to express your personal style! Each participating LuLaRoe business will be donating an item or gift card for a raffle prize. too!

Elsie is a 6 month old Hound Mix that was too much for her previous family to keep up with. She is looking for her furever home, but she needs to be the only pet. Elsie can be intense with food or other high value resources so an experienced home is recommended.  Once she warms up she can be very social and your best friend!

Susy is a 2 year old Pit Bull Terrier. She came to WI from Puerto Rico in her search for cheese :)  Susy will do best as an only pet to enjoy her new family's attention. When she builds trust with people, she will seek attention and be cuddly!

November Fun Day--THIS Saturday the 4th

Come and see us on Saturday, November 4th! The Alaskan Malamute Club of Wisconsin will be having their all-breed weight pull outside our Mukwonago store! Registration and weigh-ins start at 9:30 am, with pulls starting at 11:00. The event is expected to conclude around 3:00 p.m.

Come to admire these hard pulling canines or sign your dog up to show how strong they are! Open to dogs at least one year of age, and weighing at least 30 lbs. Some pull harnesses will be available from the Club for dogs who want to participate but don't have one. There will also be people on hand to talk to owners whose dogs have never pulled.

Mukwonago Nail Clinic: Nails by Jamie will also be here from 9am-2pm to clip your dog's nails! $10 per pet, no appointment necessary.

Blanco and Isabelle are young ferrets. They love to snuggle and play. Any home that wants a little more spunk should look into this pair!

Mona is approximately 2 years old. Her striking look is only matched by her great personality! Mona came in as a stray so we do not know much about her history.

Sylvia is a 12 year old cat that was abandoned in a carrier on HAWS's parking lot. There was no information for her provided.  She is doing well here. She can be slow to warm up, but would make a great cat-dition to any home!

Roundy was found as a stray near a Roundys. She is a pretty active cat that likes to stare out of windows. We estimate her age at about a year of age. She is waiting for someone to take her into her furever home!

Positively Pewaukee Dog Costume Contest

Join us in downtown Pewaukee this Saturday, October 21st, for Positively Pewaukee's Halloween Fun Fest from noon-1:30pm. 

There will be downtown merchant trick-or-treating, sidewalk vendors and fun for the WHOLE family, including your furry family members! 

Right at noon in front of the Pewaukee End of the Leash there will be a DOG COSTUME CONTEST.  Dress up your canine friend and bring the whole family!

While you are in Pewaukee on the 21st, plan on coming to our Stone Pony Pottery Lasting Impressions event!  Please call us at 262-696-6052 to reserve your appointment, which are available between 10am-2pm.

Stone Pony Pottery will make a custom impression of your dog's pawprint!  They are $25 each (cash preferred, credit accepted). Your keepsake will be fired & professionally finished with iron oxide and a ribbon to create a beautiful & durable piece that you’ll cherish forever.

Riley came to HAWS as a stray after being found in pretty rough shape. He seems to be doing well at HAWS and is getting pampered until he finds his new home. He would enjoy a home where he can spend a lot of time hopping around on the floor.

Puffy the cat is 6 years old. Puffy originally came in as a stray soshe has a mysterious past. She is a cat that likes to lounge as well as play, and would make a great addition to any home.

Yoga in the BARK! -- RESCHEDULED

The Yoga in the BARK! event was rained out last week!  Plan to join us THIS Saturday, October 14th, from 9-10am at Indianhead Park in Mukwonago.

Share your practice with your pet!  This Partner Yoga class is for pups and their people.  Dogs and their people come in all shapes and sizes--this class is for everyone.  The gentle practice aims to stretch, relax, and bond with your furry friend.  All are welcome to enjoy the morning with yoga from Perfect Fit and products from End of the Leash!

Kitty Kat is 7 years old. He was brought in because his owners were moving and couldn't take him with. He is a spunky cat with a lot of personality! Any household would be lucky to have his company (or so he would have you think).

Forrest is a 6-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer. He did okay with dogs after getting used to them, but is too intense with cats. He can be a little anxious so he will need a home that can offer consistency. He can be fairly independent.
